We are dedicated to creating an outstanding portfolio of public charter schools. We are steadfast in our approach to holding our schools to high standards to ensure that all students receive an education that thoroughly prepares them for college or career. In developing a strong portfolio of schools, we make as much data available to the public as possible and set tough but attainable accountability targets and standards for schools.

The principal source of DC Public Charter School Board's (DC PCSB) revenue is a 1.0% administrative oversight fee charged to each local education agency (LEA) to cover the cost of conducting its responsibilities related to the oversight of each public charter LEA. The DC School Reform Act of 1995 allows DC PCSB to assess this fee based on each LEA's budget. Read the Administrative Fee Policy to learn more.
Public charter schools are held accountable for academic achievement. The School Reform Act requires DC PCSB to conduct a charter review of each school at least every five years. After 15 years in operation, each school is required to submit a renewal application requesting to renew its charter for another 15-year term.
