Advisory Neighborhood Commissions (ANC)

Advisory Neighborhood Commissions (more often referred to ANCs) receive notification from DC PCSB when a school request to change its charter agreement.  DC PCSB encourages all schools to get to know their commissioner and to attend the ANCs single member district meetings.  

 

    Resources For ANCs

    ANCs will receive notification from DC PCSB when a school or LEA (Local Education Agency) located in their single member district seeks to:

    • Change mission, goals, academic expectations, and governance structure
    • Change in the grades served
    • Change in enrollment 
    • Change in location of the school or to add an additional facility/campus
    • Proposals to open new charter schools
