English Learner Monitoring Policy

The policy outlines local and federal requirements established to ensure academic success for EL students. It also identifies flags that may trigger increased monitoring for schools, based on specific legal requirements. Academic triggers apply to the quality of the school’s English language acquisition and core content programming for ELs. Non-academic triggers apply to legal compliance and school culture indicators.
