The Children’s Guild DC Public Charter School is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to oversee and direct occupational and physical therapy services to students. Under the leadership of the Principal and/or the Senior Clinician, the Occupational Therapist will serve as part of a team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, conducting physical assessment of students, developing treatment plans and developing physical rehabilitation programs, coordinating therapy services, participating in IEPs, consulting with parents, teachers, physicians, and others involved with care of the student regarding direct/indirect services, designing, constructing and training in adaptive equipment, assistive and orthotic devices, and prevocational/vocational skills and preparing written reports and records.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
Certification from the National Board of Certified Occupational Therapist (NBCOT)
A current State of Maryland license as an Occupational Therapist
Minimum of one (1) year school therapy experience, preferably in special education
Knowledge of theory in pediatric occupational therapy
Knowledge of emotional and physical disabilities of children
Ability to evaluate functional performance of children in an educational setting
Ability to provide individual or group therapy
Ability to provide information through written and oral reports
Ability to consult with other professionals
Effective communication skills and ability to work on a multi-disciplinary team
Commitment to meeting the needs of a diverse student population
Adhere to a high level of professional and ethical standards
