ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a COVID Operations Coordinator to begin immediately. This position is a full-time position working 8 hours a day (Monday-Friday) with an hourly rate of $20-$25. This position requires a detail-oriented, organized person to manage the implementation of daily COVID operations and testing for students and staff. The Coordinator will be provided full personal protective equipment in order to safely complete all job duties.
Roles and Responsibilities:
COVID-19 Operations:
- Serve as the in-house expert on all available guidance from the DC Department of Health (DC Health) and the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) regarding K-12 school reopening and stay up to date on any changes;
- Ensure all mandatory reopening requirements are met;
- Maintain supplies and accessibility, at each school, of personal protective equipment (PPE), cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, and other relevant supplies;
- Advise COVID Response Team and school leadership teams on the most effective COVID procedures for arrival, dismissal, meals, transitions, etc.
- Conduct daily screening and observation of students and staff ensuring all individuals on campus meet health requirements.
COVID-19 Testing:
- Implement the asymptomatic and symptomatic COVID-19 testing program;
- Contact and support families to collect all necessary COVID testing consent forms and track student eligibility for testing;
- Respond to any reports of symptomatic students or staff, including coverage of isolation rooms;
- Support the Director of Operations and/or Human Resources Manager to report any positive cases to DC Health and to conduct the school's contact tracing.
COVID-19 Reporting and Messaging:
- Serve as the lead contact tracer for COVID-19 positive cases before reporting to DOH and OSSE;
- Serve as a point of contact on all COVID-19 issues for staff, students, and families;
- Work with the Director of Operations to ensure signage is accurate and posted throughout school.
COVID-19 Isolation Room Management:
- Supervise and manage the isolation of symptomatic students who meet criteria and cannot be served through the nursing suite;
- Test symptomatic students using noninvasive SheildT3 testing protocols;
- Contact parents and ensure a smooth and safe dismissal from school for symptomatic students clearly communicating to parents return requirements;
- Work directly with Shield T3 staff to get symptomatic on demand student samples to the lab and facilitate weekly school based asymptomatic testing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ideal candidates will have the following education and experience:
- High school degree or equivalent required;
- Experience with patient care or in the medical field a plus;
- Must be timely, flexible, and dependable;
- Spanish language skills a plus;
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Experience working with youth ages 3 – 15.
