Katherine (Katie) Dammann joined DC PCSB in 2013. She leads the Sector Planning and Compliance team within the School Performance Department. Her team’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, DC PCSB’s compliance review and procurement contract oversight processes, non-academic data collection and reporting, and the charter application review process. Overseeing compliance and procurement, Ms. Dammann’s team is responsible for ensuring schools’ compliance with applicable laws, including health and safety regulations, as well as proper bidding and submission of charter school procurement contracts. Her team’s non-academic data oversight focuses on a range of data, including attendance, discipline, and midyear withdrawal. She ensures that schools are made aware of particularly high rates or concerning disproportionalities within these indicators. Additionally, Ms. Dammann’s team manages DC PCSB’s charter application review process, making sure that it is clear, thorough, and equitable. She also leads DC PCSB’s open enrollment and governance oversight work. Prior to DC PCSB, Ms. Dammann worked at Harvard Business School. She earned her Master of Arts in Teaching from Boston University in 2012, specializing in Social Studies Education, and she graduated magna cum laude from Colby College in 2009 with a double major in History and Women's Studies.
