2022-23 Back to School Start Dates

Learn about back to school start dates and what you need to do before the first day of school

Back-to-school season has arrived! And for many eager DC public charter school students, families, and teachers, it’s a gentle reminder that summer is winding down, and it is time to head back into the classroom. While there is much for families and students to do before the first day of school (like shopping for school clothes and supplies), families must also ensure their children’s pediatric immunization records are on file and up to date. DC Health is assisting families in getting their children vaccinated by offering school-located mobile vaccination clinics at select schools between July - September 2022. Families can schedule a walk-in appointment for their children HERE. *Please note: A parent or guardian must be present and provide consent during your student's appointment. Vaccines will be provided at NO COST regardless of type of insurance or insurance coverage status.
