Board Votes to Close Potomac Prep PCS
The Board voted 6-0 this evening to revoke the charter of Potomac Prep PCS. Board Chair Darren Woodruff said, “our goal is to ensure that students who attend public charter schools receive a quality education,” during tonight’s meeting.
The school will close at the end of the school year.
To help families transition, DC PCSB staff will hire enrollment specialists who will meet one on one with each family to review available school options and help families navigate My School DC, the common lottery.
Additionally, DC PCSB staff will work with the landlord of the school’s building to identify a quality public charter school that can assume the lease for the facility, and ensure that quality education services are available at that location for students.
