Ahnna Smith

Board Member
Ahnna Smith is a leader in education, workforce development, and public policy with nearly two decades of experience in the public and nonprofit sectors. She currently leads opportunity and workforce initiatives at Education Strategy Group (ESG). Previously, she served as Executive Director of the DC Workforce Investment Council, where she expanded career pathways, strengthened employer partnerships, and grew the organization's impact across the District. Earlier in her career, she served as Chief of Staff for Innovation and Improvement at the U.S. Department of Education and began her career as an elementary school teacher. Ahnna also serves on a public charter school board of trustees and volunteers as a youth lacrosse coach. 
 
Her term ends in February 2030.
