Celebrating DC International’s Scholars and Looking Ahead

September 4, 2025

DC International is kicking off the 2025–26 school year with plenty of momentum, thanks to an unforgettable 2024-25 school year of student achievements. From scholarships to championships, performances to fellowships, DCI scholars proved that their brilliance knows no bounds. Here’s a look back at last year’s accomplishments.

Middle School Stars
Two young writers made their mark, earning recognition from DO the Write Thing and One World Academy for their powerful pieces. DCI’s summer school program also received the Big Summer Boost Grant, a win for creativity and learning.

High School Achievers
Last year’s seniors secured more than $300 million in scholarships—yes, million—and celebrated DCI’s very first National Merit Scholarship. Students also earned second place in C-SPAN’s StudentCam Contest with their bold call for statehood, while others stepped into leadership through Georgetown’s Future Global Leaders Fellowship and dual enrollment opportunities.

Life Beyond the Classroom
Student life was just as vibrant. Athletes brought home a record-breaking 12 charter school championships. Adventurers set out on five Voyager trips abroad, while the high school play, Metamorphosis, not only wowed audiences but also won $5,000 in support from EventsDC. Cultural programming was in the spotlight as well, with the French Embassy awarding DCI $1,500 for Soirée Francophone and French language programs.

Schoolwide Success
Behind it all, DCI welcomed more than 270 new students and earned recognition for Excellence in Immunization Compliance, with over 90% participation.

With accomplishments like these, the stage is set for an even more inspiring 2025–26 school year. At DCI, students aren’t just preparing for the future, they’re shaping it.
