This week marks National Teacher Appreciation Week and National Charter Schools Week! I’m excited to recognize and celebrate both our public charter schools and the amazing educators who are making a lasting impact on the lives of DC students each day. While the responsibilities they hold can often feel daunting, they have a direct hand in shaping our future leaders. The next generation of advocates, doctors, scientists, servicemen, entrepreneurs, etc. occupy their classrooms—and the work they do to ensure students are prepared does not go unnoticed.

To every educator, I want to say thank you for your displays of resilience, flexibility, and commitment. You are all greatly valued and appreciated!

At DC PCSB, we will continue to support you by creating the policies and conditions that allow you to do your best work, educating students. I remain extremely proud of all the hard work and dedication that you continue to exhibit for our students. You are truly our nation’s prized jewels.
