Washington, D.C. — The DC Public Charter School Board (PCSB) voted April 8 to renew the charter of Washington Math Science Technology Public Charter School (“WMST PCS”) for an additional 15 years. After a thorough review of the high school’s renewal petition, PCSB concluded that WMST PCS has met all of its goals and expectations and should be renewed based on the school’s overall academic and compliance performance.
In the renewal report PCSB noted that the school’s board had performed well in governing the school, that the board fully understands and is committed to the mission of WMST PCS and works tirelessly to secure resources, negotiate partnerships, and expand outreach efforts in support of it.
Over the course of fifteen years, WMST PCS has been substantially compliant with general, special education, and financial laws. The school has adhered to generally accepted accounting principles. To review the final renewal report click here.
