Washington, D.C. — DC Public Charter School Board (PCSB) today released updated results for the 2012 Performance Management Framework (PMF) after the completion of an appeals process. PCSB uses the PMF to annually assess and monitor charter school performance. After the scores were released in November 2012, charter schools were allowed to appeal their score and submit additional information. This information was recalculated by PCSB and led to a new score or tier for several schools. The changes are:
- Community Academy PCS – Amos 3 - changed from Tier 3 (34.8%) to Tier 2 (35.4%)
- Paul PCS - changed from Tier 2 (63.6%) to Tier 1 (65.8%)
- Washington Yu Ying PCS - PMF score not initially calculated, joins Tier 1 (76.7%)
- Arts & Technology Academy PCS - score changed from 34.1% to 34.3% (Tier 3)
- Elsie Whitlow Stokes Community Freedom PCS - score changed from 61.3% to 63.5% (Tier 2)
- Ideal Academy PCS - score changed from 20.7% to 29.7% (Tier 3)
- Potomac Lighthouse PCS - score changed from 46.6% to 49.3% (Tier 2)
“As parents look to choose schools during this busy enrollment season, PCSB wants to make sure that DC parents have the most up-to-date information about school quality,” said PCSB Executive Director Scott Pearson.
After the appeals process, there are now 22 Tier 1 (high-performing) schools, 35 Tier 2 (mid-performing) schools and eight Tier 3 (low-performing) schools in the 2012 PMF results.
Below is the updated listing of charter schools by 2012 PMF tier. To read the full, updated performance reports for these and all schools, please click here or visit the “Data Center” on www.dcpcsb.org.
