Washington, D.C. — With the theme, “Staying the Course Towards Quality” the DC Public Charter School Board (PCSB) today released its 2011 Annual Report. The theme reflects the Board’s intention to build upon the solid foundation of charter school sector growth, high levels of accountability and continued improvement in student academic outcomes. The report is the Board’s annual public accounting for its operations, decisions, community engagement and financial stewardship. It also includes a snapshot of charter school sector profile with selected school highlights. The report is available on the Board’s website. Printed copies will be distributed to key government stakeholders, and to community members upon request.
Board Chair Brian Jones in his message emphasizes the Board’s commitment to maintaining the DC charter sector’s upward momentum and ensuring that it meets the needs of DC families. “After a busy and successful year for the DC PCSB and the DC charter community, we’re staying the course towards a city-wide charter sector that is proven, high-achieving and consistently exceptional across all schools, no matter the neighborhood or population,” Jones said.
