Middle School Inclusion Teacher (Math and ELA)

Instructional

Plan and execute high-quality instruction aligned to SJS’ mission, assessment data, and curriculum
framework
● Provide specialized instruction in the general education classroom to ensure students meet
standards and achieve IEP goals
● Accommodate assessments and specialized classwork so that students can achieve due to their
strategic supports
● Coordinate and provide accommodations during state exams for all students with IEPs and Section
504 plans
● Collaborate with general education teachers and Crew leaders to ensure student success
● Plan/Implement Learning Expeditions rooted in social justice
● Ensure IEP records are accurate and well-organized
● Monitor and assess progress on IEP goals, and use the data to plan instruction
● Partner and communicate with families to ensure student progress, services, and supports
● Create a physically and emotionally safe and inclusive classroom culture and environment that
demonstrates SJS’ Habits of Character by consistently modeling our values, practicing PBIS (Positive
Behavior Intervention System) and Developmental Designs, practicing Restorative Justice techniques,
displaying recent showcasing student work, and maximizing instructional time
● Engage parents and families in their students' academic success via annual IEP meetings, goals and
regular updates
● Participate in the summer institute and weekly professional development
● Be an active member of the SJS Professional Learning Community
● Contribute to the productivity of the school as a whole
● Commit to having courageous conversations about race, equity and social justice
● Attend and participate in school events outside of normal school hours
