Maura Marino

Board Member

Maura Marino is a partner at City Fund, where she works with local leaders to expand access to quality public schools. Her work focuses on building strong partnerships and advancing educational equity across communities.

 

Before joining City Fund, Ms. Marino led citywide education efforts in Washington, DC, as chief executive officer of Education Forward DC and managing partner at NewSchools Venture Fund. During this time, DC became the fastest-improving city in the nation on student outcomes. She has directed more than $150 million in philanthropic investments to elevate parent voice, support educators, simplify enrollment, and expand innovative school models. She is a longtime DC resident and education leadership fellow.

 

Ms. Marino began her career as a teacher in East Palo Alto, California. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Columbia University, and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
