We ♥ Teachers!

To celebrate teachers and all they do during Teacher Appreciation Week, DC Education Reform Now, FOCUS, Leading Educators, DCPS, and the DC Public Charter School Board staff partnered to host a social for public school teachers. View photos from the event here
Celebrating Education Choice During National Charter Schools Week
May 1-7 we celebrated the diverse quality educational options public charter schools offer DC's students and families during National Charter Schools Week. Patrick the Pencil (pictured above) traveled the District to meet with students, families, city officials, and community members.
Honoring National School Nurses Day
School nurses play a vital role in improving health care and minimizing health care disparities for students. We're pleased that each year more schools are getting access to an on-site school nurse. In the past four years, the total number of school health professionals in public charter schools has risen to 115. Thank you to the nurses and mental health professionals that take care of our children every day.
Tipping our Hat to all Mothers
Eagle Academy PCS held the Women Who Wear Many Hats Mother's Day celebration on May 6. More than 300 mothers came in their best hats and received fun giveaways. We're tipping our hat to all mothers!
