Notice of Petition to Amend Charter: Goals and Academic Achievement Expectations – Eagle Academy PCS

Due Date

November 21, 2016

Vote Date

December 19, 2016

Summary

The District of Columbia Public Charter School Board announces an opportunity for the public to submit comment on Eagle Academy Public Charter School request submitted on September 30, 2016 to changes one of its campus locations.

Eagle Academy PCS currently operates two campuses, Capitol Riverfront (Ward 6) and Congress Heights (Ward 8). After recently learning that its leased facility in Ward 6 will be sold by the building’s owner in August 2017, the school has decided to relocate its Capitol Riverfront campus from 1017 New Jersey Avenue, SE in Ward 6 to a new facility located at 2403 Naylor Road, SE in Ward 8, effective for SY 2017-2018.  The school’s Capitol Riverfront campus currently educates approximately 150 students, and the school reports its enrollment for this campus will remain the same after its relocation in SY 2017-2018.

Pursuant to the School Reform Act, D.C. Code 38-1802 et seq., a charter school must submit a petition to revise its charter, which includes its campus locations.
