Notice of Petition to Amend Charter: Governance Structure - DC Scholars PCS

The District of Columbia Public Charter School Board (“PCSB”) announces an opportunity for the public to submit comment on a request to amend its governance structure submitted by DC Scholars Public Charter School (“DC Scholars PCS”) on June 10, 2016.

DC Scholars PCS proposes to amend its governance structure by separating from its existing management company, Scholar Academies.  If approved, this amendment will be effective beginning in school year 2016-17, and the school will transfer its charter management responsibilities to a new entity, DC Scholars, Inc.  DC Scholars PCS will also revise its bylaws and articles of incorporation to reflect the organizational changes.  

Pursuant to the School Reform Act, D.C. Code 38-1802 et seq., a charter school must submit a petition to revise its charter, which includes its Governance Structure.
