The District of Columbia Public Charter School Board (“PCSB”) announces an opportunity for the public to submit comment on a request to amend its goals and student academic achievement expectations by LAYC Career Academy Public Charter School (“LAYC Career Academy PCS”) on August 31, 2015.
LAYC Career Academy PCS was established in 2012, and currently provides adult education services to students between the ages of 16 and 24. Among its many services, LAYC Career Academy PCS offers students college preparatory education, career training in high growth occupations, and college credit classes. The school is proposing to amend its goals and academic achievement expectations by combining two of its existing goals and officially removing CASAS as an assessment offered by the school.
Pursuant to the School Reform Act, D.C. Code 38-1802 et seq., a charter school must submit a petition to revise its charter, which includes its goals and academic achievement expectations.
