Public Hearing on the Proposed Revocation of the Community Academy PCS’ Charter
On December 15, 2014, the Public Charter School Board (PCSB) voted unanimously to initiate revocation of the charter for the Dorothy I. Height Community Academy Public Charter School (CAPCS), pursuant to its authority under the School Reform Act (SRA). PCSB acted following recommendations by PCSB staff. Board Member Barbara Nophlin recused herself from the vote.
When the PCSB Board votes to initiate revocation proceedings, the school is entitled to request an informal public hearing to make a presentation to the PCSB Board. That hearing took place tonight, January 27.
The next step is for the Board to schedule a vote to revoke or not to revoke CAPCS' charter.
