DC Public Charter Schools Observe Juneteenth

President Joe Biden signed a bill on June 17, 2021 establishing Juneteenth as a federal holiday.  Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States.  To view a list of schools that will observe the holiday.  

The following schools will observe Juneteenth:  

  • Capital City PCS - closed on Monday, June 21

  • BASIS DC PCS
  • Social Justice PCS
  • Truth PCS - optional school for students and staff
  • Shining Stars Montessori Academy PCS
