Teacher and Staff Vaccination Rate for DC Public Charter Schools

 Overall,  96.5% of teachers and staff working at DC public charter schools have received a full course of vaccination against COVID-19.

In addition, DC PCSB is releasing the following data for each DC public charter school LEA:

• Teacher and Staff Vaccination Rate: this is percent of an LEA’s teachers and staff who are fully vaccinated.
• Teacher and Staff Vaccination + Exemption Rate:  this is the percent of school teachers and staff who are fully vaccinated or who have received an exemption under the law (e.g., health, religion). DC PCSB will use the teacher and staff vaccination + exemption rate to monitor compliance with the Mayor’s Order by all DC public charter school LEAs.

Pursuant to the Mayor’s Order, DC PCSB created a process to ensure compliance with COVID-19 vaccination by all DC public charter schools.  In addition, many public charter schools implemented a staff vaccination mandate earlier in the school year.  

Reporting Period:  February 2022.  Information is from schools’ self-reported data.

*The “exemption” category includes the current number of school staff who have not received a full course of a vaccination against COVID-19 and have been determined by the school on a case by case basis to hold a position for which an extension to the vaccination deadline is necessary to ensure all other legal obligations are met.*
