Top 5 Reasons to Attend the Charter Application Townhall
On April 11 at 6:30 p.m., our Parent Alumni Leadership Council (PALC) will host the Charter Application Townhall at DC PCSB's office. This is an opportunity for all to learn about the charter applications that DC PCSB received and hear about the application review process. In case you haven't decided on whether or not to attend, here are our top 5 reasons to attend:
- You care about education and want to meet other people in your community and around the city that also care about education. This event is a great place to learn and network. There will be organizational partners, ANCs, Council staff and parents at the event. We encourage participants to talk to each other and get to know how everyone is connecting to education in Washington, DC.
- You will be empowered as a myth buster and have a real first hand look at the process of what it takes to open a charter school- hear something at the playground or on your listserv? - you can help us dispel myths and be an expert in your community.
- Our PALC is an amazing group of leaders and parents. You will be supporting their work and effort and have access to parents just like you who understand choice and can be resources to your family and community.
- You will meet our staff. This event is supported by DC PCSB staff who is always available to answer questions or concerns. You will be able to put names and faces together and connect with us.
- This event ensures that you will have input on the applications we received. This cycle we received 3 applications. Read more about the applications here. Find out more about those programs and see if they are a good fit in the city and for our families. Share your voice and opinions in our process.
We hope to see you there. Please RVSP to [email protected] by April 8 so we can plan accordingly.
