Vote Date
Summary
The District of Columbia Public Charter School Board (“PCSB”) announces an opportunity for the public to submit comment on a request submitted by Academy of Hope Adult Public Charter School (“Academy of Hope PCS”) on 8/3/15 to amend it goals and academic achievement expectations.
Academy of Hope PCS will begin its second year of operation in school year 2015-2016. The school currently provides an array of services for adult learners, including GED preparation, computer training, and career assessment and planning. Academy of Hope PCS is proposing to revise its goals and academic achievement expectations in order to align them with PCSB’s Adult Education Performance Management Framework (“Adult Ed PMF”). Per its amendment request, the school proposes to “achieve at least three out of the four PMF indicators at 65% or better of weighted range score for each indicator as determined by the Adult Education PMF, and no indicator will fall below 35% in years 2 through 4, 40% in years 5 through 7, and 45% in years 8 and beyond.”
Pursuant to the School Reform Act, D.C. Code 38-1802 et seq., a charter school must submit a petition to revise its charter, which includes its goals and academic achievement expectations.
