Welcoming New Board Leadership

January 15, 2026

DC PCSB is excited to welcome three new members, completing a full seven-member volunteer Board dedicated to ensuring every public charter school student in the District has access to a quality education. Representing Wards 1, 2, and 4, these leaders bring deep expertise in education, public policy, civic leadership, and community engagement, strengthening the Board’s collective ability to serve students, families, and public charter schools in Washington, DC.

Residing in Ward 1, Maura Marino is a Partner at City Fund, where she works with leaders nationwide to expand access to quality public schools. A longtime DC education leader, Maura previously served as CEO of Education Forward DC and as a Managing Partner at NewSchools Venture Fund. Over her career, she has directed millions of dollars in philanthropic investments to support educators, families, and innovative school models. She began her career as a classroom teacher.

Michelle Yan, a Ward 2 resident, serves as an executive at CitySchools Collaborative and has spent her career advancing DC’s public education system. Previously, she was Chief of Staff to the Deputy Mayor for Education, where she supported education and workforce strategy and oversaw pandemic recovery investments. She also played a key role in strengthening My School DC, the District’s common application and lottery system, and began her career as a middle school teacher.

Antonio (Tony) Williams, a Ward 4 resident, brings decades of experience at the intersection of government, technology, and community advocacy. As Vice President of Local Government Affairs and Advocacy at Comcast NBCUniversal. Tony is the creator of Comcast’s Internet Essentials program, which has connected more than 10 million low-income Americans to high-speed internet. His extensive civic leadership includes serving as board chair of DC Public Libraries and Washington Leadership Academy, as well as roles with Black Tech Futures and the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies.

Together, the new members join current Board members: Secretary Shukurat Adamoh-Faniyan, Treasurer Carisa Stanley Beatty, Lea Crusey, and Vice Chair Jim Sandman to form a full seven-member volunteer Board.
