Fall is harvest season and at Bridges and DC Bilingual PCS, that spirit is in full bloom. Scholars and staff are planting, growing, and now harvesting their own crops, nourishing both themselves and their communities. Through this hands-on learning, students are bringing classroom lessons to life and seeing their knowledge flourish right in the garden.
We sat down with staff and students to learn how their gardens began, how they connect their work to classroom learning, their favorite parts of the process, and how they use their harvests to give back to the community.
Stay tuned as we continue spotlighting the schools we serve and showcasing why DC’s public charter schools are a great choice for students of all ages.
