On September 18, several members of the Arizona State Board of Charter Schools and A for Arizona came to DC to learn about some of PCSB’s innovative authorizing practices several key topic areas; including: school closures and the PMF.  The group also met with representatives from My School DC to discuss, and the common lottery.

PCSB discussed the current state of public charter schools in DC as well as provided some background on the history in DC.

Following the meeting, the group met with Scott Pearson and Naomi DeVeaux, to discuss opportunities and challenges with the PMF, our relationship with other education entities in DC as well as PCSB’s vision for the future of  education.

All in all, it was a great day and great opportunity for PCSB to share our successes and work with other authorizers to develop and implement new and improved programs. This is the third time this year another state has visited PCSB to learn about our education reform practices.

Thank you the Arizona team for the visit!
