Cesar Chavez and Paul receive $1.1 million grant to collaborate with DCPS

One of the goals in creating charter schools was to share work and education practices with traditional schools.  That continues to happen in DC. The latest charters are Cesar Chavez and Paul public charter schools, which received $1.1 million total in grants from the Office of the State Superintendent of Education to partner with nearby DCPS elementary schools to train teachers and life student achievement. The Washington Examiner has more details in its story. 

E.L. Haynes is starting its second year of working with more than a dozen charter and DCPS elementary school through the PLACES grant (Professional Learning Communities of Effectiveness). The grant aims to sharing best practices charter and traditional public schools on topics like how to move to the Common Core State Standards, the uniform guide to what students should be learning.
