Washington, D.C. — The DC Public Charter School Board (PCSB) unanimously voted Monday to approve the Adult Education Performance Management Framework (PMF) Pilot and three other policies: Updating the Language and Terms Used for Data Collection; Definition of School, Campus and Facility; and Update the Language on PCSB Monitoring of Schools.
The Adult Education Performance Management Framework pilot looks to measure the effectiveness of adult education programs offered in charter schools by tracking student progress and achievement through assessments and measuring students’ employability. The pilot will be voluntary in the 2012-2013 school year to allow for feedback before PCSB considers making it a mandatory accountability measure, similar to its PMF for charter schools with students in grades 3-8 and 10.
The policy Updating the Language and Terms Used for Data Collection includes new language on Qualitative Site Reviews (QSR), which replaced the Program Development Review (PDR). The policy Definition of School, Campus and Facility clarifies how to describe schools operating in multiple locations under one charter. The policy Update the Language on PCSB Monitoring of Schools replaces specific references to PCSB data systems such as OLAMS, MODMS, AOIS, and ProActive with the general phrase “data collection tools.”
