Don Soiffer Gets DC PCSB Highest Honor for 11 Years of Service on the Board

July 15, 2019

At the July 15, 2019 board meeting, the DC Public Charter School Board (DC PCSB) awarded Don Soifer with our Award for Exceptional Service for his 11-year tenure on the Board. Don’s proclamation states:

WHEREAS, from 2008-2019, Don Soifer's tenure as a devoted Board member and Board Chair helped to ensure the DC Public Charter School Board could fulfill its mission of providing quality public charter school options to students and families in Washington, DC, and

WHEREAS, Don's commitment to ensuring DC's public charter schools provide every student a quality education while holding the schools to a high academic standard, and

WHEREAS, Don led the charge to raise the charter sector's academic performance through the implementation of DC PCSB's accountability tool, the Performance Management Framework, and

WHEREAS, Done ensured the Board put its ultimate stakeholders first - the families and students served by our public charter schools - by empowering them with more transparent data about our schools, and 

Now, therefore, be it resolved that the DC Public Charter School Board does hereby honor Don Soifer for his tireless efforts on behalf of Washington DC's students and their families, awarding him with our highest honor, the DC Public Charter School Board's Award for Exceptional Service.
