Background
Two Rivers Public Charter School serves a diverse group of learners across three locations in Wards 5 and 6. The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for working with students, other teachers and staff, and the Principal.

There may be additional responsibilities that the teacher undertakes or that are assigned as the needs of students and of the school arise.
This is a 10.5 month position which is exempt and therefore not eligible for overtime pay under
the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure team understanding of student speech and language strengths and needs, through evaluation, educational program planning, and service delivery.
Evaluate the student’s ability and formulate the student’s speech/language profile through functional and standardized assessments, skilled observations, checklists, histories, and interviews; and a variety of functional, behavioral, and standardized assessments
Synthesize evaluation results into a comprehensive written report which reflects strengths and barriers to student participation in the educational environment; direct program development; and guide evidence-based intervention
Develop speech and language intervention plans based on student needs and evaluation results
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations, and develop individual education plans and intervention plans to achieve IEP goals
Provide targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student participation and speech and language performance within the school environment
Provide professional development for educators
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
If applying as a clinical fellow, participate in feedback sessions with clinical fellow supervisor
Qualifications
This position requires a Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and licensure to practice in DC.
