Michele Gray

Director, School Equity and Effectiveness

Michele L. Gray leads DC PCSB’s oversight and evaluation of school program effectiveness. She supports school leaders in developing and implementing school improvement plans and oversees special populations monitoring and the Qualitative Site Review process. With 30 years in urban public education, Ms. Gray has served as a teacher, advocate, and school leader. Her leadership roles include Assistant Principal, Master Educator, and Director of Student Services in DC charter and traditional schools. She has a strong track record of improving outcomes for students with disabilities and English learners and led the development of an integrated Literacy and Social-Emotional Learning framework. Ms. Gray holds a B.S. in Special Education with a minor in Spanish Literature, a Certificate in Education Policy and Leadership from the University of Maryland, and an executive certificate in Nonprofit Management from Georgetown University.
