Michele Gray

Director, School Equity and Effectiveness

Michele L. Gray leads DC PCSB’s oversight and evaluation of school programs serving priority student groups: students with disabilities, emerging multilingual students, and students identified as "at-risk." She supports charter school review and renewal processes by evaluating the efficacy of diverse learner programs. Ms. Gray has worked as an advocate, teacher, and leader in service of urban public education for over 26 years. She was a special education and dual language teacher in Maryland and Virginia. As a leader, she has been an Assistant Principal and Director of Student Services in the DC Charter Sector. During her tenure, students with disabilities and students who were learning English met or exceeded academic and linguistic growth goals.  Ms. Gray has a Bachelor of Science in Special Education with a Spanish Literature minor and a Certificate in Education Policy and Leadership from University of Maryland College Park.
