This year, DC PCSB received 11 charter school proposals and only approved 5 schools. The applications offer a variety of program models including Arabic immersion, Project Based Learning, single-sex, intergenerational model, EL (formerly Expeditionary Learning), and Montessori. All the applications were evaluated using our Standard of Approval guidelines as outlined in the Charter Application Guidelines.
The Board rejected six applications and encouraged the founding groups to apply again next year.
