Today, April 14, Judge Ronna Beck upheld the February 12, 2015 decision of PCSB to revoke the charter of Dorothy I. Height Community Academy Public Charter School (CAPCS). The reasons for PCSB’s decision are outlined here and here.
“Throughout this process, our number one concern has been the students – and to minimize any disruption in their education. Our priority has been and continues to be that students can continue to attend a quality school,” said Darren Woodruff, PCSB Chair.
PCSB worked with the Mayor’s office to ensure that CAPCS families had guaranteed quality schools to attend next year, and that those who wished had adequate time to enter the My School DC common lottery with the help of enrollment specialists.
PCSB was represented by O'Melveny & Myers LLP.
