On October 20, more than 100 students, parents, and school leaders from dozens of public charter schools met with DC councilmembers to talk about the positive impact public charter schools are having on students. Representatives of Mundo Verde PCS, KIPP DC PCS, Washington Latin PCS, Richard Wright PCS, Rocketship PCS, Appletree PCS  and Friendship PCS were present to show their love for their schools, share stories of their success and promote they are #DCcharterPROUD.

However, Charter Schools were not the only #DCcharterPROUD individuals in the room! Several councilmemebrs and community leaders took to Twitter to show their support for DC’s public charter schools.
