Per DC Official Code § 38-2916, a Public Education Finance Reform Commission (PEFRC) has been appointed to study and report on revisions to the Uniform Per Student Funding Formula (UPSFF).

The Commission discusses issues of equity, adequacy, affordability and transparency related to the maintenance of uniformity of funding between DCPS and public charter schools and will determine funding levels needed by DCPS and public charter schools to provide educational services sufficient to enable students to meet the academic standards of the District of Columbia. Ultimately, the Commission will produce recommendations for revisions to the UPSFF for consideration in the development of the Fiscal Year 2013 budget for the District of Columbia.
