In September, the DC Public Charter School Board awarded Sara Mead with their Exceptional Service Award for her time served on the Board between 2009 to 2017 at its monthly meeting. Throughout her tenure, she was committed to ensuring DC’s public charter schools provide every student a quality education and had a positive impact on students and families DC’s public charter schools educate. Also, her initiatives led the charge to raise the charter sector’s academic performance by implementing the accountability tool, the Performance Management Framework (PMF). This tool has shifted the landscape of DC’s education and raised the academic standards for all schools. To watch Sara receive her award, click here.
