Last week, the Hope Community Public Charter School (PCS) Board of Trustees  decided to relinquish the school’s charter, effective at the end of the 2024–25 school year. The final day for students will be June 3, and for staff, June 9.

At the DC PCSB meeting on March 17, 2025, the Board made decisions on Cedar Tree Academy PCS, Hope Community PCS, and IDEA PCS. Each school's academic performance, finances, and organizational effectiveness were evaluated. 

The deadline to apply to start a new public charter school is fast approaching! This is a chance for passionate educators and innovators to expand educational opportunities for DC families.
