When Darren Woodruff’s first child was born 15 years ago, most of his friends in Washington, DC, didn’t consider public schools to be an option. Today, he is the board chair of the DC Public Charter School Board (DCPCSB). Setting high standards and holding schools accountable for results are “critically important” to the board and to the city’s students.
