Washington, D.C.  — With less than two weeks remaining before the start of the 2013-14 school year, dozens of spaces are still available in many of the District’s highest performing charter schools, according to a recent PCSB analysis of waitlist data.

Charter schools that are ranked Tier 1 meet standards of high academic performance, according to  PCSB’s Performance Management Framework (PMF) a tool used to rate schools based on student growth, student performance, attendance, reenrollment rate, and other factors.

“Tier 1 schools hold PCSB’s highest rating,” said Scott Pearson, PCSB Executive Director. “Any parent still seeking a great school for their child should look closely at these options."

As of August 15, there are a total of 201 spaces available at Tier 1 schools. Families should contact individual programs to confirm availability and to register.  Families can find available spaces for all DC charters schools by using PCSB’s  Available Charter School Seats and Waitlist feature available on our  website.
