Washington, D.C. — As we have seen with charter schools in jurisdictions around the country, the prospect of a neighborhood preference for charter schools is a complicated issue. For this reason, the DC Public Charter School Board applauds Council Chairman Kwame Brown for his leadership in establishing a task force that will carefully examine the issue and seek neighborhood input from the communities that would be affected.
