DC Public Charter School Board Website Redesign Request for Proposal (RFP)

The District of Columbia Public Charter School Board (DC PCSB) seeks proposals from individuals and organizations that are experienced in providing and/or redesigning the DC PCSB website (www.dcDC PCSB.org) to improve user experience, navigation, accessibility, and realign and redesign relevant content for our diverse audiences of families, students, educators, and community members. The improved site should reflect DC DC PCSB’s mission, vision, and brand. Designing new school pages that incorporate (and automate updates of) school evaluation data, scores, and Levels (ASPIRE) while enhancing overall functionality, usability, and ADA compliance.

The DC Public Charter School Board is responsible for approving, modifying, or revoking a public charter school’s charter and proposed amendments.

Financial Oversight

We review financial information to see how well schools balance their checkbooks. High-performing schools ensure they have sufficient finances for the year plus any contingencies. In cases of low-rated schools, the Board works closely with a school's leadership for an improvement plan that ensures solvency.

School Fiscal Audits

Fiscal audits for public charter schools ensure financial integrity by reviewing expenditures, revenues, and compliance with regulations. These audits provide transparency, build trust among relevant parties, and help maintain accountability in financial management. Detailed audit reports are published, below, annually, offering insights into each school's financial health and operational efficiency.

Student Enrollment

The number of students enrolled in public schools in Washington, DC in the 2024-25 school year increased slightly compared to 2023-24 enrollment, with 99,652 students enrolled in District public and public charter schools according to preliminary data released by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE).
